Description

Traditional French Sablés de Noël made with butter and cinnamon, perfect for decorating, gifting, or enjoying during the holiday season.


Ingrédients

ÉCHELLE
  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 70 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar
  • A few drops water

Préparation

  1. Mix softened butter and egg yolk until smooth
  2. Add flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt and mix into a dough
  3. Form dough into a ball, wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F
  5. Roll dough to 3 mm thickness and cut shapes
  6. Place cookies on a lined baking sheet
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until lightly golden
  8. Mix powdered sugar with water to form a thick glaze
  9. Let cookies cool slightly and glaze one side
  10. Allow glaze to dry completely

  1. Do not overwork the dough
  2. Chilling the dough improves texture
  3. Glaze cookies only when fully cooled
